Two Schoolchildren Abducted in Abia Community After Boarding Tricycle in Rain Two schoolchildren have been reportedly abducted by suspected kidnappers in Umuosu-Nsulu community, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State. The incident occurred as the children were returning home from school on a day of heavy rainfall. According to details shared by journalist Emmanuel Nwazue of Afia TV on social media, the victims and four other pupils boarded a commercial tricycle (popularly known as Keke) after seeking shelter from the rain. Two women were already on board the tricycle at the time. Watch video below.  Narrating the account reportedly given by one of the children who later escaped, Nwazue said all six pupils entered the tricycle. Instead of stopping at the children’s intended destination, the rider allegedly drove past the marketplace and brought the vehicle to a halt, claiming he had run out of fuel.  Musician Mycah 'Dangata' Reportedly Released From Kaduna Correctional Centre Kaduna-based musician and social media influencer, Zacharia Mycah, popularly known as "Dangata," has reportedly been released from the Kaduna Correctional Centre. Sources familiar with the development said Mycah regained his freedom on Friday after leaving the correctional facility. However, the Nigerian Correctional Service has yet to officially confirm his release or disclose the circumstances surrounding his detention and subsequent release as of the time of filing this report. Family members and supporters were reportedly at the facility to receive him following his release. Further details are expected as more information becomes available.  Burkina Faso breaks off diplomatic relations with France Burkina Faso has broken off diplomatic relations with France, the ‌government said on state television on Friday. "The Government of Burkina Faso wishes to inform national and international public opinion that it has decided to break off its diplomatic relations with the French Republic, effective from this day, 26 June 2026." - Excerpt of the official statement from the Burkina Faso's junta. moving forward, both countries won't have any diplomatic relations, no ambassadors or representatives whatsoever. "The essential conditions for promoting relations ​based on mutual respect, reciprocal trust, respect for ‌the ⁠principle of non-interference in internal affairs, and national sovereignty are not in place," Communications Minister Gilbert Ouedraogo said.
