A NORTH CAROLINA MAN SHUT HIMSELF INTO HIS 5-YEAR-OLD SON'S ROOM AND VICIOUSLY ATTACKED HIM BEFORE HEADING TO TACO BELL FOR FOOD WHILE RESPONDING OFFICERS DESPERATELY TRIED TO SAVE HIS SON'S LIFE.(PHOTO).

A North Carolina man shut himself into his 5-year-old son's room and viciously attacked him before heading to Taco Bell for food while responding officers desperately tried to save his son's life.

31-year-old, Jehaaz-Akil Khaliq Echoles, is being charged with first-degree m*rd*r after carrying out a cruel and fatal attack on his own child.

Only minutes after midnight on Thursday, July 10th, Jehazz-Akil Khaliq Echoles kicked in the door of his ex-girlfriend's apartment at the Sabal Point Apartments in Pineville, North Carolina.

After gaining entry, Echoles rushed into his innocent 5-year-old son's bedroom and shut the door behind him.

The child was sleeping.

By the time the child's mother gained entry to the room, Echoles had already savagely st#bbed his little son multiple times. Echoles fled the nightmare he had caused as the mother entered her sons room.

The mom found her beloved son profusely bleeding from multiple wounds to his head and neck.

The child also had the heartbreaking evidence of defensive wounds on his arms from trying to protect himself from his own father. That is as heartbreaking as it is infuriating.

The boy's mother immediately called 911, and responding officers rushed to the scene. The responding officers ultimately transported the child to the hospital in a patrol car, in a desperate attempt to save this young victim's life. They did not have time to wait for an ambulance.

Sadly, the child was pronounced deceased a short time after arriving at the hospital.

While brave men frantically tried to save his son, Echoles chose to go to a nearby Taco Bell for a quick bite to eat.

This is where officers with the Pineville Police Department located Echoles and took him into custody.

There is no known motive for the attack on his child.

Jehazz-Akil Khaliq Echoles is being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail with no bail. He is due in court on July 30th. We all hope that this five-year-old gets proper justice.

Our thoughts are with the family of this young victim, especially the mom as she navigates a grief no parent should know. Our thoughts are also with the responding officers who were incredibly hands-on and tried their very best.
