Pakistan says 29 militants killed in cross-border strikes near Afghanistan border  Pakistani security forces conducted a ground operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday, followed by targeted “calibrated strikes” on suspected militant hideouts, killing 29 fighters, according to officials. Authorities said the operation was carried out in response to a series of militant attacks across the country. There was no immediate reaction from Afghan authorities. In recent years, Pakistan has faced a rise in militant violence targeting police and security personnel, with officials frequently blaming the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and allied groups. The latest action came a day after militants attacked the regional headquarters of paramilitary Rangers in Karachi, killing three soldiers. Security forces later killed three attackers and detained another suspect, who was identified by the military as an injured Afghan national. A breakaway ...

NDC WRAPS UP STRATEGY MEETINGS AHEAD OF APPEAL AGAINST REGISTRATION NULLIFICATION. (PHOTO).

NDC Wraps Up Strategy Meetings Ahead of Appeal Against Registration Nullification The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has concluded a series of high-level strategy meetings involving its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, national leader Seriake Dickson, and other top stakeholders as it prepares to file an appeal today against a Federal High Court ruling that nullified the party’s registration. The meetings come barely 48 hours after the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, set aside its earlier judgment that had directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC. The controversial ruling has sparked political tensions, with opposition figures condemning it as a deliberate move to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. A senior NDC official, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity, revealed that the party leadership held back-to-back emergency meetings to finalise its legal strategy for the Court of Appeal. SOUTH-EAST APC CHIEFTAIN DISMISSES PETER OBI’S CLAIMS OF PLOT TO BLOCK 2027 PRESIDENTIAL BID. (PHOTO).

Image
A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in the South-East, Dr. George Agbakahi, has described allegations by former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that there are plans to prevent him from contesting the 2027 presidential election as baseless, unfortunate, and politically motivated. In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja at the weekend, Agbakahi argued that such serious claims of executive interference in the electoral process must be supported by credible and verifiable evidence rather than speculation or political rhetoric. Reacting to Obi’s assertions of plots to block his presidential ambition, Agbakahi said there is no publicly available evidence linking the Federal Government or the Presidency to any scheme aimed at stopping qualified opposition figures from participating in the 2027 election. “Legal issues surrounding the registration status of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, are matters currently before the courts and stem from...

The study found that, on average, people donated one per cent of their income, although the figures varied across regions.  Africans gave an average of 1.6 per cent of their income, compared with 0.6 per cent in Europe. HILLARY CLINTON SCHOOLS JD VANCE OVER WATERGATE REMARKS: 'MAYBE HE DOESN'T KNOW THIS HISTORY'. (PHOTO).

Image
Hillary Clinton schools JD Vance over Watergate remarks: 'Maybe he doesn't know this history' Vice President JD Vance stirred controversy during a June 25 appearance at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, where he promoted his new book and reflected on the Watergate scandal.  Vance argued that the notion Nixon resigned because of the scandal was “crazy,” suggesting that in today’s media environment the story would not have lasted more than a single news cycle.  He also compared Nixon’s downfall to what he described as “deep state” efforts against Donald Trump during his first term, noting that he had “always liked” Nixon. Hillary Clinton quickly pushed back, criticizing Vance’s grasp of history and linking his comments to his administration’s record on book bans. On X, she quipped that perhaps Vance was unfamiliar with Watergate because “it’s in one of the books his administration banned.”  Clinton went further, contrasting the Republican response to Nixon with the cu...

BILL CLINTON REVEALS HOW HE FEELS ABOUT UPCOMING MIDTERMS AFTER SOCIALIST VICTORIES. (PHOTO).

Image
Bill Clinton reveals how he feels about upcoming midterms after socialist victories Former President Bill Clinton expressed optimism about the Democratic Party’s outlook following three socialist victories in New York primaries. Speaking to Fox News Digital on June 25, Clinton said he believes Democrats are “in good shape” heading into the midterm elections.  The wins by Darializa Avila Chevalier, Brad Lander, and Claire Valdez all backed by the Democratic Socialists of America have sparked discussion over whether progressive candidates represent a viable path to national success. Clinton, who has historically aligned with more moderate Democrats, appeared unfazed by the results. He previously endorsed Andrew Cuomo in the New York City mayoral primary against socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani, who ultimately defeated Cuomo in 2025.  His stance reflects the ongoing tension within the party as it grapples with ideological divisions, balancing the appeal of progressive pla...

Despite the awkward exchange, Mollen emphasized that their split has been far from hostile. She described the breakup as “bizarre,” noting that she and Biggs remain romantic in their own way even after deciding to end their marriage of 18 years.  For her, the relationship has shifted into a different kind of intimacy one rooted in friendship and enduring affection ra...
