WORLD POPULATION DAY: FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU WANTS NIGERIANS TO REGISTER FOR NIN

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu wants every Nigerian to register and obtain a National Identity Number, citing the need for accurate population data that will enable the government plan effectively and provide essential services for Nigeria’s growing population.

The statement forms part of her message marking World Population Day 2026, where she joins the global community in pledging commitment to building a future where every individual, especially women and young people, has access to quality healthcare, education, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

It notes that as population continues to grow, there must be increased investment in the nation’s greatest asset, the people, adding that through collective action, Nigeria can empower families, promote healthy lives, support the youth and ensure sustainable development for generations to come.
