British citizen Campbell Scott who went missing on February 17 in Nairobi, has been found dead in Makongo forest with his body stuffed in a green sack. His body was identified at Makueni County Referral Hospital morgue with signs of torture, including gouged eyes and bound hands.
Campbell Scott was attending a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi for the data analytics company FICO and was last seen by colleagues on 16 February. Two suspects, a waiter and a watchman, have been detained.
ACCORDING TO ANOTHER SOURCE:
In a tragic turn of events, the body of 58-year-old British businessman Campbell Scott was discovered in Makueni County, approximately 110 kilometers southeast of Nairobi. Scott, a senior director at data analytics company FICO, had been missing since February 17, 2025. His decomposing body was found in a green sack near Makongo View Point, with his hands and legs tightly bound, suggesting he was murdered elsewhere and dumped at the scene.
Scott arrived in Nairobi on February 16 to attend a three-day workshop at the JW Marriott Hotel. CCTV footage captured him leaving the hotel with an unidentified man on February 17. Investigations led to the arrest of a taxi driver who reportedly dropped Scott and others at Pipeline Embakasi, where it's believed he was detained.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of foreign nationals in Kenya. British High Commissioner to Kenya, Neil Wigan, emphasized the need for swift and transparent investigations into such abductions and killings to uphold Kenya's commitment to human rights.
Our thoughts are with Campbell Scott's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
