Israel and Lebanon agree to extend US-brokered ceasefire by 45 days, State Department says Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend a U.S.-brokered ceasefire by 45 days, according to U.S. officials, in an effort to allow further progress in ongoing negotiations aimed at reducing hostilities along their shared border. A State Department spokesperson said the April 16 cessation of hostilities would be extended by an additional 45 days following what officials described as “highly productive” talks held in Washington on Thursday and Friday. The two sides are expected to resume negotiations on June 2 and June 3. A 6-YEAR-OLD CHILD PLUMMETED 81 FEET FROM A NASHVILLE APARTMENT BUILDING.(PHOTO).

A 6-year-old child plummeted 81 feet from a Nashville apartment building.

A Nashville mother waited to look down until she exhausted all other alternatives. When she did peer over the edge of her 8th floor balcony, her life was irrevocably changed in that instant.

6-year-old, Kingston McWilliams, was the victim. His mother informed authorities that she had only briefly left his side to go into another room in the apartment where the two lived at 200 East Webster.

Upon quickly returning to the living room, she immediately noticed Kingston was not in the room. She began an extensive search of the apartment and hallway before stepping onto her balcony and looking over the  railing  to see her son's lifeless body 81 feet below.

Kingston was rushed to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, where he passed away a short time after arriving.

Kingston's mother said that Kingston had enjoyed the balcony, and she frequently scolded him for unsafe behavior while out on it.

Police say that preliminary findings point to the incident simply being just a tragic accident.  However, detectives with Youth Services are launching their own investigation.

Our thoughts are with Kingston's mother and entire family as they attempt to navigate this heartbreaking loss.
