The victim, in this case, is a small dog named 'Teddy', who was adopted in September of 2025 .
At that time, Teddy was placed in his "Forever Home" when Michael Borowski, and Nestor Guanzon adopted the lovable pup.
However, it appears that single altruistic action was the limit for these two men, who are now facing charges of third-degree aggravated animal cru*lty.
According to official reports, Teddy's condition, which was causing "constant intense pain", was discovered during a lie.
On May 12th, Michael Borowski placed a call to animal control, claiming Teddy had suddenly "become aggressive". He wanted to surrender Teddy back to animal control and resisted any attempts to mediate the problem. In fact, when mediation was suggested, Michael Borowski threatened that he was going to "knock Teddy in the head with a shovel'.
The dramatic statement by Michael Borowski brought Palm Dale Police Department to his home with animal control officers.
Once on scene, the awful truth of Teddy's predicament became obvious. A single glance showed animal control that Teddy was in excruciating pain. Officers reported that Teddy was in such bad condition that he could not be examined safely at the home.
Animal control officers immediately rushed Teddy to the Animal Specialty Emergency Center of Brevard.
Veterinarians soon discovered that Teddy's pain was a direct result of serious neglect from his owners. Michael Borowski and Nestor Guanzon had placed a vest on Teddy shortly after adopting him and had never removed it.
Due to continuously wearing the vest, it had physically fused into Teddy's flesh, causing extreme pain and an overwhelming necrotic odor.
Teddy underwent emergency surgery to extract the fabric that had become embedded into his flesh.
Local law enforcement was furious with Teddy's treatment, slamming Borowski and Guanzon. Sheriff Wayne Ivey stated that he would like to let them both rot in jail like they let the vest rot into Teddy.
The sheriff made good on his statement.
Michael Borowski and Nestor Guanzon were both arrested on July 9th on charges of third-degree aggravated animal cruelty. Both men are currently in Brevard County Jail on a $10,000 bond each.
As for poor Teddy, after 9 months of pain and neglect that grew worse by the day, Teddy is now fully treated and recovering! Animal Control says he will spend the rest of his life being properly cared for and loved.
