Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  He’s Not Dead - Kevin McKidd Teases Possible Grey’s Anatomy Comeback

Kevin McKidd is stepping away from Grey’s Anatomy for the moment, but he is making it clear the door is far from closed on Owen Hunt’s story.

After the season 22 finale saw Owen and Teddy Altman leave Seattle for a new life in Paris, the actor says he would gladly return to the long-running medical drama in the future.

“I would do both in a heartbeat,” McKidd, 52, said when asked about coming back as either actor or director. “I love the character, Owen, and he’s not gone, so there’s always a chance.”

He added that his connection to the show remains strong after years of working both in front of and behind the camera. “I would embrace that opportunity with wide open arms,” he said, “because it really is a family there.”

Alongside his acting role, McKidd has become a key creative voice on the series, directing more than 45 episodes, including the most recent finale.

Even with his departure from on-screen duties for now, he expects to stay involved behind the camera. He shared that he will soon travel to London for filming on the psychological miniseries The Only Suspect, before returning to Los Angeles later in the year.

“I’ll be finished with that in June,” he said. “Then I’ll likely come back to L.A. and direct one of the early episodes of the next season.”

Outside of television, McKidd is also expanding his production company, Ferryman Films, which has recently partnered with STV Studios.

He says several projects are already in development, describing the slate as a mix of ideas at different stages, with some particularly exciting plans ahead.

While Owen and Teddy’s farewell storyline ended on a hopeful note, McKidd admits the real-life goodbye behind the scenes carried more emotion than viewers saw on screen.

A number of crew members reached out with personal messages as filming wrapped, something he says meant a lot after so many years on set.

“It really made me grateful,” he said. “We built something that feels like a family.”

Saying goodbye was especially emotional alongside co-star Kim Raver, who plays Teddy Altman.

“We both really value working together,” McKidd said. “Knowing we won’t be doing that for a while was sad for both of us.”

Even so, he says they focused on giving Owen and Teddy a hopeful ending that fit their journey, rather than letting personal emotions take over the final scenes.

Looking back, McKidd reflected that he once imagined a very different exit for Owen.

“I always thought Owen might have a heroic ending,” he admitted, “because of where he started as a damaged war veteran.”
