 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. FG withdraws terrorism charge against Miyetti Allah leader, Bodejo


In a dramatic turn of events, the Federal Government has opted to withdraw the alleged terrorism charge leveled against Alhaji Bello Bodejo, the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Kore.


The surprising announcement was made during a hearing at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday.


Prosecuting lawyer, Mrs. Aderonke Imana, delivered the unexpected news, stating, “Consequently, the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation has instructed me to withdraw this charge against the defendant in the interest of justice.”


Imana’s oral application, made pursuant to Section 108 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 and the powers vested in the Attorney General of the Federation under Section 174 of the Constitution, marked a significant shift in the legal proceedings.


Responding to the prosecution’s application, Defense lawyer Ahmed Raji, SAN, expressed gratitude for the Attorney General’s decision, stating, “We urge your lordship to discharge the accused person under the sections referred to by the prosecutor.”


In a ruling that echoed the spirit of justice, Justice Inyang Ekwo ordered the discharge of Bodejo, affirming, “The court is hereby moved to consider the application for the discharge of the defendant. Consequently, an order is hereby made discharging the defendant. That is the order of this court.”


The decision to withdraw the terrorism charge against Bodejo marks a significant development in the legal proceedings, signaling a departure from the initial trajectory of the case.


As the courtroom drama unfolds, all eyes remain on the implications of this decision and its broader ramifications within the legal landscape.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
