 Morocco signs agreement to join Gaza international force, state media say Morocco signed an agreement on Wednesday to participate ​in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for ‌Gaza, state media reported. The agreement was signed in Rabat at a meeting attended by Moroccan ​Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, senior defence ​officials and Nickolay Mladenov, the Board ⁠of Peace envoy for Gaza, along ​with a delegation including the commander of ​the ISF, the state news agency MAP said. The agreement "reflects the shared determination to contribute, through concrete ​humanitarian and security actions, to the ​establishment of a climate of peace and security in ‌the ⁠region," MAP quoted a statement from the Moroccan defence administration as saying.  Liberia repatriates 17 nationals from South Africa Liberia repatriated its first group of nationals, numbering 17 people, from South Africa on Wednesday, according to its foreign ministry, with anti-immigrant tensions high in the country. South Africa has witnessed weeks of protests and unrest targeting immigrants, who are accused of taking jobs and resources. Some African countries have already repatriated tens of thousands of citizens. The Liberians landed at Roberts International Airport near Monrovia at 2:45 pm (local and GMT), the ministry confirmed to AFP. 'Most distressed' The individuals had "voluntarily requested" to come home, Varlee Sanor, deputy executive director of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC), told AFP. INEC TO USE NIN VERIFICATION AGAINST DUPLICATE VOTER REGISTRATION. (PHOTO).

 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will strengthen its partnership with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) by using the National Identification Number (NIN) to verify voters and eliminate duplicate voter registrations ahead of future elections. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, disclosed this on Wednesday while receiving the Director-General of NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja. Amupitan said the collaboration follows the signing of the National Identity Management Commission Act, 2026. According to him, INEC’s newly introduced online Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) platform already requires applicants to provide their NIN for identity verification.
