 ZIMBABWEAN COUPLE DEPORTED OVER SECRET BURIAL OF CHILD IN BOTSWANA A Zimbabwean couple has been deported from Botswana after secretly burying their child without notifying authorities. Motilinah Mpofu and Christopher Ncube were convicted on Thursday of concealing a death after they allegedly dug a grave for their child in the dead of night. The Gaborone court heard the child had died suddenly. Instead of reporting the death to police, health officials, or traditional leaders, the couple quietly buried the youngster and hoped no one would find out. But the secret did not stay buried for long.   Police moved in and arrested the pair.  A Texas dentist was arrested after she administered lethal doses of Demerol to a 4-year-old little girl who was just there for a simple visit.    48-year-old Chrishelle Hemphill was taken into custody outside of Cuddle Kids Dental Care on Wednesday, July 15th. She is being charged with felony injury to a child. Aithana Arriaga passed away on April 1st of 2026 when a visit to her dentist, Dr. Chrishelle Hemphill, went fatally wrong.  Aithana's parents had brought her in to Cuddle Kids Dental Care in Fort Worth, Texas, for a simple tongue-tie procedure. After some final reassurances that everything would be easy and pain-free, they sent their daughter to her appointment and would never see her alive again. The lawsuit had been brought again Husky Armory LLC and its parent company by  Henry's mother, Laura Herp. The suit alleged the company had not verified her son Henry Willis's age, or did any kind of background check before selling him a 'ghost gun kit' online. A crocodile dragged a 12-year-old boy into the Ghaghra River in Bahraich as his uncle tried to save him.  The body was recovered later in the evening, deepening concern among residents living along the river. The incident took place on Tuesday when the victim had accompanied his uncle, Udayraj Singh, to work on their agricultural field near the Ghaghra River.    While at the site, the boy went to the riverbank to relieve himself when a crocodile lying in wait attacked him. Eyewitnesses said the boy struggled desperately to free himself while his uncle raised an alarm. Hearing the cries, nearby farmers and villagers rushed to the spot and hurled stones and bricks at the crocodile in an attempt to force it to release the child.         However, the reptile reportedly tossed the boy several times in the water before pulling him into deeper waters. A 43-year-old Ghanaian TikTok user has been sentenced to prison for publishing videos falsely claiming that former President John Mahama buried 32 cows alive as part of a ritual to win the 2024 presidential elections.  The Accra Circuit Court handed down a one-year imprisonment sentence after the TikTok user, Camilla, pleaded guilty to charges of publishing false news and engaging in offensive conduct related to the unsubstantiated videos about President Mahama.  When asked by the court to provide the location of the alleged sacrifice, Camilla was unable to furnish any evidence to support her claims. The court did not offer an option for bail or a fine.

A rescued Oriire teacher, Zachery Olatunde, has revealed that his abductors occasionally washed the captives’ clothes during the 56 days they held him and 43 others in the Old Oyo National Park. He said the disclosure was meant to counter online claims that the freed pupils and teachers looked too neat to have genuinely endured weeks in a kidnappers’ camp. Olatunde spoke in a video shared by Oyo Matters on Thursday, days after he and other victims abducted from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area regained their freedom following a security operation. Speaking in Yoruba which was translated to English by our correspondent, he explained that the abductors took charge of laundering the captives’ clothes once the smell from their bodies became noticeable. SALE OF ENERGY DRINKS TO  KIDS UNDER 16 BANNED IN ENGLAND The sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to children under 16 is to be banned in England from April next year in a bid to cut childhood obesity rates. Under the new rules, it will be illegal to sell drinks containing more than 150mg of caffeine per litre to anyone under 16. The ban will apply across all retailers, including online, in shops, restaurants, and cafes. Vending machines will also face a total ban on the drinks to prevent under-16s from circumventing the restrictions. Drinks that breach the limit and will be included in the ban include Red Bull, Monster, Relentless, and Prime.  These products already carry manufacturer warnings stating they are not recommended for children. Tea, coffee, and lower-caffeine soft drinks such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi will be exempt from the new restrictions. TWO ZIMBABWEAN TRUCK DRIVERS ARRESTED FOR AIDING ILLEGAL MIGRATION, NINE ETHIOPIANS INTERCEPTED IN KAZUNGULA The Department of Immigration in Kazungula District of Southern Province has arrested two Zimbabwean truck drivers, Joel Mhenyu (53) and Pfidzai Chipuriro (36), for aiding and abetting the illegal entry of nine Ethiopian nationals into Zambia. The two drivers were intercepted while attempting to exit Zambia through Kazungula en route to South Africa. During the operation, Immigration Officers discovered nine Ethiopian males aged between 20 and 33 concealed within compartments in the chassis of two Volvo trucks bearing registration numbers KFW 830 MP and KFW 827 MP.
