The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a financial boost for clubs participating in the preliminary stages of its interclub competitions.

For the first time, each club competing in the early rounds of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup will receive a $50,000 grant.

The initiative is part of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe's commitment to enhancing club competitions and providing increased financial support.

Traditionally, only clubs reaching the group stages received financial rewards, but this new policy marks a significant shift.

Victoria United and Fovu de Baham will each receive $50,000 ($29.8 million FCFA) from CAF to prepare for their African Cup clash.
