 Katsina woman rewarded with N500,000 for display of honesty A woman identified as Malama Amina Abdulkadir-Yanmaman has been rewarded with N500,000 and certificate of commendation for returning N748,320 wrongly credited to her account to the coffers of Katsina state government. Abdulkadir-Yanmaman was wrongly credited with N748,320 meant for the Federal Government’s Home Grown School feeding programme in the state, according to Executive Director, Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency (KASIPA), Dr Mudassir Nasir.  Tinubu's Economic Policies Have Led to Unprecedented Poverty in Nigeria - Delta Governor


Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has faulted the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as those that have unleashed unprecedented hunger, poverty and mass unemployment on Nigerians and turned Nigeria into the world’s poverty capital.


Oborevwori specifically argued that the probable gains of Tinubu’s policies on petroleum subsidy removal and floating of the naira had been swallowed by naira devaluation and galloping inflation.


In a statement by the Executive Assistant on New Media, Mr Felix Ofou, on Monday, the Delta governor said it was high time the Tinubu government embraced policies that would stem poverty and suffering.


Oborevwori’s comments came against the backdrop of an assertion by the former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, that the President’s economic policies had led to increased federal allocation to state and local governments, rising economic growth rates, declining imports, higher exports, and higher incomes for farmers.”


However, Governor Oborevwori disputed the claim by Omo-Agege, questioning “the value of the increased funds amidst galloping inflation, naira devaluation, and widespread poverty.”


The governor urged caution against embracing policies that exacerbate poverty and suffering.


“Tinubu’s economic policies have unleashed economic hardship on Nigerians and are not a desirable model for Delta State.


“Is this the model that Omo-Agege is recommending for Delta to copy? A model that has unleashed economic hardship on the people? Why would anyone recommend APC’s T-pain as a remedy to our woes? This is not a path desirable for Deltans and one they would want to embrace at this time,” he said.
