 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail.  Third Mainland Bridge set to fully reopen on April 4


The Lagos State Government has announced the imminent reopening of the Third Mainland Bridge on April 4, 2024, following extensive repair works.


The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, via his official social media account on Saturday.


In a statement addressing Lagos residents, Osiyemi expressed gratitude for their patience and cooperation throughout the repair period. He conveyed the government’s commitment to ensuring smoother travels ahead for commuters.


The statement read, “Dear Lagos residents, We’re pleased to share that the Third Mainland Bridge will resume full operations on April 4, 2024, following extensive repairs. We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation, and we look forward to even smoother travels ahead.”


The decision to partially close the Third Mainland Bridge for repairs was initially announced by the Lagos State Government on January 5, 2024. Subsequently, repair works commenced on January 9, leading to temporary inconveniences for commuters.


With the upcoming full reopening of the bridge, commuters can anticipate improved traffic flow and enhanced transportation efficiency across Lagos. The government’s commitment to infrastructure maintenance and development underscores its dedication to ensuring the safety and convenience of residents and visitors alike.


As the Third Mainland Bridge resumes full operation, stakeholders are encouraged to continue supporting efforts aimed at enhancing the overall transportation network in Lagos State.
