Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food.  Court Sets June 19 for Judgment in N550m Suit Against Army Over Alleged Assault


A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed June 19 for judgment in a N550 million fundamental rights suit filed by Mr. Ambrose Akhigbe against the Nigerian Army, Chief of Army Staff, and six others over alleged assault and attempted murder.


Akhigbe, an Assistant Director at Command Secondary School, Lagos, accused soldiers of brutalizing him for filming students being punished. He is seeking compensation, a public apology, and an injunction to prevent further harassment. The defendants were absent in court during Monday’s hearing.
