Trump calls Time magazine photo 'worst of all time'

President Trump on Tuesday criticized Time magazine’s cover photo of him, calling it the “Worst of All Time” despite praising the accompanying story. The November 10 issue highlighted Trump’s role in brokering the recent Gaza peace deal, describing it as “his triumph” and noting that the agreement could become a signature achievement of a potential second term.

Trump took to Truth Social to voice his complaints, writing that the photo “disappeared” his hair and showed “something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one.” He added, “I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture, and deserves to be called out.” Time has not publicly responded to his remarks.

The cover and story drew attention beyond Trump’s reaction. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova denounced the photo on Telegram, calling the choice “astonishing” and suggesting that only those “obsessed with malice and hatred” could have selected it. Meanwhile, California Gov. Gavin Newsom shared the cover on X with Trump’s neck censored, continuing his long-running social media jabs at the former president.

The feature coincides with Trump’s widely noted role in the Gaza peace deal reached last week. Under the agreement, Israel will partially withdraw troops from Gaza, and Hamas will release the remaining hostages, ending a two-year conflict that began with Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack. The fighting has already resulted in tens of thousands of casualties, and although the ceasefire has begun, violence has not completely stopped; Israeli forces carried out a drone strike Tuesday morning that killed seven Palestinians. Trump has called the deal potentially “the biggest thing I was ever involved in.”
