Kyle Richards marked a personal milestone this July, celebrating four years without alcohol. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star explained in an Instagram post that she initially gave up drinking to improve her health and mindset during a difficult period.
At the time, she felt alcohol was no longer serving her physically, mentally, or spiritually, and she wanted to avoid “bad days” when she already wasn’t feeling her best. Though she admitted people once saw her as “fun” when she drank, she refused to let others’ opinions deter her from making the change.
Richards shared that sobriety brought unexpected benefits, including a calmer outlook even during challenging times. She noted that situations which once triggered anxiety now feel more manageable, and she appreciates waking up happier after social events.
While some people struggled with her decision, she realized their discomfort reflected more on them than on her. For Richards, the shift was not just about looking healthier but about finding peace and stability in her daily life.
Her journey has also coincided with major personal changes, including her separation from Mauricio Umansky in 2023 after nearly three decades of marriage.
Despite those challenges, Richards emphasized that quitting alcohol has been “all upside.” She now embraces the idea that she can be fun without drinking and enjoys discovering non‑alcoholic beverages that fit her lifestyle.
Her reflections highlight how sobriety has become a source of strength, resilience, and renewed self‑confidence.
