Michael Douglas was joined by his daughter Carys as he received a special honour in Mallorca, Spain. The 81-year-old actor attended a gala on August 3, where he was named one of the first Terra d’Honor ambassadors, a distinction created by Mallorca’s government to recognise individuals who have helped highlight the island’s identity and culture. Douglas arrived at the event with Carys, 23, whom he shares with actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. The ceremony was held at the Costa Nord cultural and educational centre in Valldemossa, a facility Douglas founded. Amid that, a video has surfaced online in which Tinubu tells Wike he owes him nothing. Apparently, while speaking at the project inauguration, Wike said “the budget should be a federal government budget as they are federal roads” and went on to mention some names and if they have said its federal government roads and they still do it, who are those to suffer, as its Rivers people. EFCC Secures Final Forfeiture of 324 Properties in Kano The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the final forfeiture of 324 properties recovered for the Kano State Pension Fund Trustees. Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja gave the order of final forfeiture while ruling on a motion by the EFCC, seeking the final forfeiture of the properties which are “reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities of Kano State Pension Fund Trustees”. The properties comprise of 168 homes situated at Sheikh Ja’afar Mahmud Adam Bandirawo City, Kano; 122 houses at Sheikh Nasiru Kabara (Amana City), Kano and 38 houses at Sheikh Khalifa Ishaq Rabiu City, Kano. The 168 houses at Sheikh Ja’afar Mahmud Adam Bandirawo City are made up of 55 Units of 2-bedroom semi-detached houses; 51 Units of 3-bedroom houses; 7 Units of 3-bedroom converted ; 17 Units of 3-bedroom Carport; 3 Units of 4-bedroom Duplex; 9 Units of 5-bedroom Duplex and 22 Units of 3-bedroom Green-roof....

IMSU management suspends lecturer who slapped female student May 2, 2023 Dr Desmond Izunwanne, a lecturer who slapped and assaulted a female student of Imo State University, IMSU, has been suspended. It was gathered that the female student identified as Ukamaka from the department of Medical Laboratory, received multiple slaps from her lecturer after she attended lectures on wrong outfit. The incident, according to a video posted by Instablog9ja, occurred at a lecture hall of the Imo state University (IMSU) on Friday last week. A Source who preferred anonymity said Dr. Desmond Izunwanne, the lecturer is from the department Physiology in the faculty of Basic Medicine but teaches Medical Laboratory students. Another source said that the lecturer has gotten used to abuse students on regular basis. ECOWAS Pleads For Leniency Over Ekweremadu’s Case Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament is appealing for leniency in the sentencing of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; and his wife, Beatrice over the ruling in the United Kingdom. The couple and their doctor, Obinna Obeta, on March 23, were found guilty after a 6-week trial at the Old Bailey of facilitating the travel of a young man to Britain on behalf of Ekweremadu’s daughter, Sonia, with a view to his exploitation. Speaker, ECOWAS Parliament, Dr Sidie Mohamed Tunis, in a letter dated April 6, 2023, addressed to the Chief Clerk of the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, London, appealed to the court to ‘temper justice with mercy’. King Charles's Coronation Rehearsal Members of the UK's armed forces have paraded through the streets of central London  in a full dress rehearsal for the King's coronation. The procession will feature more than 6,000 men and women from the UK and Commonwealth countries.
