 Florida women with 'expensive taste' steal 24 Stanley cups, lobster, crab meat in heists, authorities say A Florida woman stole 24 Stanley tumbler cups from a hardware store, along with an assortment of champagne, lobster and crab meat from other locations, authorities said Monday.  Thefts occurred on Saturday at two Winn-Dixie stores and two Ace Hardware stores in Nassau County – located in northern Florida near Jacksonville, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office said.  "This case demonstrates the importance of vigilance and quick action. Our off-duty lieutenant's attentiveness led to the swift apprehension of these suspects, potentially preventing further thefts. We remain committed to protecting our local businesses and community from such criminal activities," Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said.  Michigan man pleads guilty to kidnapping store manager before stealing 123 guns from retailer: DOJ A Michigan man pleaded guilty to kidnapping the manager of a sporting goods store at gunpoint during a scheme to steal more than 100 guns from the business last November. Darnell Bishop, 33, faces life in prison after agreeing to a plea deal on Tuesday that involved him pleading guilty to kidnapping and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence that took place on Nov. 16, 2023, according to a news release from the Department of Justice. Dontrell Nance, Bishop's brother and accomplice, pleaded guilty to the same charges in April and will be sentenced later this month, the DOJ said. As part of the deal, Bishop admitted to authorities that he and Nance went to the home of the manager of Dunham's Sports in Benton Harbor and handcuffed and blindfolded him at gunpoint before taking him elsewhere and forcing him to provide the code that disables the store's alarm.  Florida woman arrested after allegedly killing 4-year-old son, attempting to hide signs of child abuse A Florida woman was arrested after being accused of killing her 4-year-old son and attempting to use makeup to conceal abuse inflicted on him. Arayiah Hudson, 36, was taken into custody at her home Monday night in connection with the death of her son, Joseph, Tampa police said in a news release. She is charged with first-degree murder while engaged in aggravated child abuse. Officers responded to a home in the 8400 block of N. 15th Street at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday after Hudson called 911 to report that her son was unresponsive. When they arrived at the home, officers conducted CPR on the child, but he was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Hudson initially claimed her son began coughing and having difficulty breathing after eating potato chips and drinking water, but detectives later discovered a potential history of child abuse.  NIGER TO GET NEW ORIENTATION CAMP .  .....Gov Donates N200,000 each to 1,301 CMs  The Niger State Governor, Rt Hon Umaru Muhammad Bago has announced the release of the sum of Five Billion Naira for the construction of  an Ultra-modern Orientation Camp for NYSC in the State. He also announced the donation of the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira for each Corps Member in camp, a trailer load of rice and twenty cows to augment the feeding of Corps Members and Camp Officials during the on-going Orientation programme. The Governor stated this today in his address during the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2024 Batch 'B' Stream One Corps Members deployed to the State held at the NYSC Niger State Orientation Camp, Paiko.
