THE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS SAYS TROOPS ELIMINATED OVER 100 TERRORISTS, ARRESTED 345 TERRORISTS, AND RESCUED 393 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN THE MONTH OF JULY.(PHOTO).
The Defence Headquarters says troops eliminated over 100 terrorists, arrested 345 terrorists, and rescued 393 kidnapped victims in the month of July. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, stated this during the monthly Defence Media Operations briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. Major General Onoja added that during the period under review, 57 terrorists surrendered, over 1,000 arms and assorted ammunition were recovered, 18 illegal refining sites were destroyed, while 250,500 litres of stolen crude oil and refined petroleum products were recovered. Speaking further, Major General Onoja, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, reaffirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to the protection of lives and property nationwide, and their resolve to ensure that kidnapping, terrorism, secessionist agitation, and other forms of criminality are purged from society.
On Wednesday 26 February,a couple Mr Temitope and Mrs Helen Falusi were arrested by the Detectives from Anti-huma Trafficing section of the state criminal investigation Department Oyo state police command,for trafficking 4 girls being used for prostitution at Sharp corner Hotel,Orita Aperin ,Ibabadan .The state Commissioner of police,Mohammed Indabawa said they got an information that the woman and her husband were bringing the young girls from Benin,Edo state to her brothel in Ibadan for prostitution.The girls are being made to sleep with different men for a fee out of which they would pay Helen a fee as rent in which two out of the four were below 18years.Mrs Helen Falusi claimed she don't admit under aged children that when she noticed they were young,she decided to send them back to Benin on Thursday but the police raided them on wednesday.These girls are being sent to me by their people.''I don't collect the money from them,all i take is N1000 naira rent every monday and if they don't get customer,they usually know they are coming to hustle because that is the question i always put across to them when they first arrive.They would reply that hey are aware of what they are in Ibadan to do.One of them is even a mother of three.I don't allow under aged girls because of the warning handed over to me by detectives from state CID''.One picture below.
