 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Image result for efcc                 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on February 13,2017 secured the conviction of Olugbenga Fanbunmi,who was arraigned before Justice Mamman Kolo of the Federal Capital Territory,FCT High Court on one-count charge bordering on advance fee fraud.Fanbunmi,who holds a diploma from the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,Ogun State,is a member of a syndicate that specializes in forging bank statements,employment records,international passports,national identification card,and supporting documents need to process visas for the United Kingdom.
His nefarious activities date back to 2005 during which he mastered the art of forging documents for ''abusive visa applications''.Between 2007 and 2016 he helped to forge bank statements as part of documents to process UK visa for 11 people.He had succeeded in helping 15 people obtain visas to travel to the UK where they were forced into prostitution.He pleaded ''guilty'' to the charge on February 9,2017.Based on his plea,Justice Kolo,convicted him of the charge and sentenced him to four years in prison.
