  Woman c-ut her father's heart out during brutal murder A woman allegedly stabbed her father to death before removing his heart and placing it on his abdomen, according to police. Online jail records from the Porter County Sheriff’s Office show Serena Desiree Dolnics, 32, was booked into jail early Monday morning on a murder charge. Serena Dolnics, 32, was found covered in blood when police busted into the northwestern Indiana home where she allegedly butchered her 69-year-old father, Gregory Dolnics, who was found dead on the floor. Gregory Dolnics was found next to blood-spattered furniture with slash wounds to the head, face, back of the neck, and hands, and his heart, which had been carved out, was lying on his stomach, according to charging documents obtained by NWI. Police found the daughter in the house with slice wounds on her hands that she blamed on gardening tools. DASH Commences Laporoscopy Surgery

The Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia, Nasarawa State has commenced laporoscopy surgery. 

The Head of Surgery Department, Dr. Odunze Odala who announced this on Thursday described the commencement as a landmark achievement which will pave the way to do greater things for the people of Nasarawa State.

She lauded the Chief Medical Director, Dr Ikrama Hassan and his management staff for their dogedness in getting things done in the hospital. 

Ms Odala however appealed for the training of doctors and nurses for effectiveness in the procedures.

Also speaking, the Consultant Surgeon, Dr. Bamidele Omolabake, who performed the first Laporoscopic appendectomy, said the surgery is a minimal access surgery done without cutting the abdomen, with several advantages such as having a better vision of the patient's abdomen to make better diagnosis and better treatment outcome. 

Mr Omolabake added that the surgery is less painful and scarless.
