 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Dry Season: Anambra Firefighters Ready to Combat Fire Outbreak

Ahead of the forthcoming dry season and in getting ready to combat fire disasters that come with it, the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, has procured complete personal protective equipment (PPE) for firefighters in the state.

The state Firee Chief, Engr Martins Agbili, made this known today during the issuance of fire safety wears to firefighters. 

Engr Agbili said that the complete PPE ranging from fire suit, coverall, crash helmet, fire safety boot and hand gloves have been issued to all the firefighters in readiness for the battle ahead in dry season.

Agbili who used the opportunity to appreciate the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for all he has been doing for the fire service, also thanked the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr Julius Chukwuemeka, who he said has done so much for the service.

He also said that all the state fire trucks are undergoing routine servicing in readiness for the dry season.
