Trump administration halts border wall well drilling in New Mexico after ranchers raise water concerns  The Trump administration has ordered contractors building a border wall in New Mexico to stop drilling new wells after ranchers raised concerns that groundwater pumping for construction could worsen drought conditions and threaten their livestock. The move comes as crews work to expand border barriers across four states as part of President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda. The project has received billions in federal funding and has faced criticism from residents, environmental groups and local officials over various impacts. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which oversees construction, has said water is needed for concrete production, road construction and controlling dust. However, ranchers in southern New Mexico say water supplies are already under strain due to ongoing drought, forcing some to reduce their cattle herds.  South Africa Revokes Citizenship Of Chidimma, Mother

South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs has announced plans to revoke the identity and travel documents of former Miss South Africa finalist, Chidimma Adetshina, and her Mozambican-born mother. The department has concluded its investigation into the duo and handed the case over to the Hawks for potential fraud charges.

The decision follows the Adetshinas’ failure to respond to a Monday deadline to explain why their South African documents should not be canceled. Home Affairs Director-General Tommy Makhode revealed that officials visited a property linked to Adetshina in an attempt to locate her mother, who is believed to still be in South Africa.

However, the department is puzzled as to how the mother could have traveled to Nigeria last month to support Adetshina at the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, which she won. Social media posts from the event seem to confirm her presence in Nigeria.

“We couldn’t find a trace of the passport that she has been using to come to South Africa from Mozambique on the movement to Nigeria,” said Albert Matsaung, the acting Deputy Director-General for immigration.

HOME AFFAIRS REVOKES ID, TRAVEL DOCS, PLANS TO CRIMINALLY PROSECUTEIn a bombshell announcement, the Department of Home Affairs claimed that it would be proceeding with criminal charges against Chidimma Adetshina and her mother.

This after the mother and daughter failed to prove their case by the deadline of Monday, 28 October.

“We’ve done our investigations. We went through due process, we gave her an opportunity to make representation [and this] was not done,” DHA spokesman Njabulo Nzuza said.

Chidimma is set to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe finale in Mexico on 16 November.
