  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  LCCI Urges Ongoing Stakeholder Engagement Over Telecom Tariff Hike


The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has called for sustained dialogue among stakeholders in the telecommunications sector to ensure a balanced approach following the recent 50% tariff hike approved by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).


LCCI Director-General, Dr. Chinyere Almona, highlighted the sector's critical role in driving innovation, economic growth, and lifestyle enhancements but acknowledged the financial strain on operators due to rising energy costs, inflation, and currency depreciation.


She noted that while the tariff increase might ease operators' financial burdens, it could further strain consumers, particularly those in lower-income groups. Almona emphasized the need for improved service delivery, robust regulation, and strategic investments in digital infrastructure to drive Nigeria's economic growth and digital transformation.


Additionally, Almona urged the government to support the ICT sector with more funding, as it has shown resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains a key contributor to economic recovery. She also advocated for minimizing human interference in regulatory processes and enhancing automation to boost efficiency.


"Nigeria's digital economy must be empowered to catalyze growth, drive innovation, and unlock new possibilities," she concluded.
