The Ebonyi State Police Command has apprehended a suspect, Ovuta Chigozie, for possessing two human skulls and three locally made firearms. Chigozie, a resident of Okoffia in Ezza South LGA, admitted that the skulls were given to him for use in a spiritual concoction. Authorities are currently tracking the individual linked to the case.
In a separate operation, police officers investigating a stolen tricycle uncovered a criminal syndicate involved in altering the colors of stolen tricycles from neighboring states. The operation led to the arrest of Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba.
Three stolen tricycles were recovered, with the suspects confessing to receiving them from accomplices for repainting.
The arrests were confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, in Abakaliki.
The police assured the public of their commitment to protecting lives and property, adding that all suspects will be prosecuted after investigations are concluded.
