 Two toddlers spent days alone inside of a Pennsylvania home alongside their deceased mother and her ex-boyfriend. Authorities in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, are searching for answers after making a disturbing discovery at an area home on the afternoon of Monday, August 3rd. Officers responded to the home around 2:30 p.m., and after making entry, they were startled to find a 1-year-old girl and her 3-year-old sister inside of the home with two deceased adults.  The adults were determined to be the children's mother, 31-year-old Lamara Baldwin, and her ex-boyfriend, 42-year-old Lamont Dunlap. Authorities say there were no obvious signs of trauma on either victim. Evidence inside the home suggest they passed away on July 31st. This means the two young girls were left alone with their deceased mother and Lamont for days. The two young girls were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation before being placed into the custody of Allegheny County Children, Youth and Family Services....

OPERATION KUKAN KURA: NOTORIOUS ROBBERY SUSPECT BARGA, 14 OTHER THUGS ARRESTED, 4 MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED


  ... As the Command Sustains the Fight Against All Forms of Criminal Activities ...


The Kano State Police Command has arrested fifteen (15) suspects in a crackdown on thuggery-related crimes, carried out by Tactical teams in Sheka, Ja'oji, and Kurna Quarters on 26th July 2025.


2.  This is part of the ongoing "Operation Kukan Kura", a special security initiative launched by the Command CP to detect and proactively nip in the bud any threat of criminal activity, aligning with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to promote community-oriented policing.


3.  The suspects, aged between 14 and 28 years, were arrested in possession of four (04) robbed mobile phones belonging to different victims.  The suspects confessed to engaging in criminal activities, including mobile phone robbery and theft.


4.  Part of the operation led to the arrest of a suspected notorious serial armed robber, Mu'azu Barga, who is linked to different cases of armed robbery and is responsible for leading a series of violent attacks and rivalry Daba fights within Kano Metropolis. The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation. 


5.  The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has declared total war against all forms of thuggery-related crimes and reiterates the Command's commitment to sustenance of peace and security in the State.
