 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  PASTOR CHAINED IN COTONOU FOR 2 YEARS FOR RAPE 


A Nigerian pastor, Benjamin Egbaji, was detained by the authorities in Cotonou, Benin Republic, for two years over allegations that he defiled a 13-year-old girl. 


According to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, the teenager whose mother accused Egbaji of rappe withdrew the allegation but the Cross-River native was still detained behind bars. 


Ojukwu said she visited the pastor at the Centre National Hospital Universitaire (CNHU) where he is chained to his bed while receiving treatment, and he burst into tears on sighting her.


Ojukwu said that the Nigerian government is working behind the scenes to ensure that justice is served and that Pastor Egbaji receives proper legal representation and medical attention.
