 Kim Jong Un tells North Koreans to 'turn their dogs into soup' during deadly heatwave North Koreans have been urged to eat dog soup as the country struggles to manage a brutal heatwave. A state newspaper in the country published an interview with one of the nation's top doctors that encouraged citizens to start making the highly controversial soup dish. Translated as "sweet meat soup", the article published in Rodong Sinmun describes the dish as offering North Koreans a "highly nutritious" food option that can help counter the symptoms of heat stroke, such as "cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism", according to the South China Morning Post.  Super Falcons Yet to Receive $100,000 Reward, Other Promises from FG After 2024 WAFCON Victory


Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has disclosed that the team is still awaiting the $100,000 reward and other commitments promised by the Federal Government following their triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.


In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade addressed the status of the pledges made by the government. When asked by Jideonwo, “Have they delivered the $100,000?” Ajibade responded, “We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid. They have not paid; all the promises, we have not received anything.”


Ajibade led the Super Falcons to a record-extending WAFCON title in Morocco, solidifying Nigeria’s dominance in women’s football on the continent. Following the victory, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosted the team at the Presidential Villa, where he conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) on the players and their technical crew. Additionally, each player was promised $100,000 and a three-bedroom flat as a reward for their achievement.


During the reception, President Tinubu praised the team for their “indomitable spirit of resilience, determination, and courage,” describing the win as a historic milestone for Nigeria. However, nearly a year after the victory, the team is yet to receive the pledged rewards, raising concerns among players and fans alike.


The delay in fulfilling these promises has sparked discussions about the government’s commitment to supporting sports development in Nigeria. Neither the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) nor the Federal Government has issued an official statement regarding the delay as of the time of this report.


The Super Falcons’ victory continues to be celebrated as a testament to their talent and dedication, with hopes that the government will soon honor its commitments to the team.
