 Beloved actor Ras Ajai, 47, 'shot dead' while walking down a street A beloved film star and musician has di£d. Ras Ajai, whose real name was Brian Todd Boucher, played JLP political enforcer Claudie Massop in the 2024 film Bob Marley: One Love biopic. He was reportedly shot in Waterford, St. Catherine, Jamaica, at the age of 47. He rubbed shoulders with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they arrived at the movie's Jamaican premiere. Another person is reported to have sustained injuries during the assault, which remains under investigation by St Catherine South Police. Sources say the reggae and dancehall artist, vocalist and composer was walking down a street with a companion on Saturday, August 1, when they were attacked by armed criminals travelling in a vehicle. One of the attackers allegedly exited the car and unleashed gunfire on the duo and Ras was shot several times before they fled in the motor.  Osinbajo to African leaders: GDP growth doesn’t guarantee better living conditions for citizens


Yemi Osinbajo, former vice-president of Nigeria, says economic growth figures alone do not reflect real improvements in citizens’ lives.


Speaking at the Ford Foundation 65th anniversary event in Abuja on Wednesday, Osinbajo harped on the need to embed social justice in economic planning to yield tangible national and state outcomes.


Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the total monetary value of all goods and services produced within a country during a period. It is the most common measure of an economy’s size. It is often used to evaluate economic performance and growth over time.
