INEC Assures Nigerians Every Valid Vote Will Count in 2027 Elections The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that every valid vote will count in the 2027 general elections, pledging a credible process that reflects the will of the people. The assurance was given on Thursday by Dr Adejumo Peter, Head of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC Kwara State, during a seminar organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ilorin. Dr Peter said the electoral body would strictly adhere to its rules and procedures to ensure free, fair and credible elections based on the principle of one person, one vote. “INEC in Kwara will follow the rules and procedures as laid down by our commission. We will ensure that the elections are done on a one-man, one-vote basis. At the end of the exercise, the outcome of the elections will reflect the will of the people,” he said.  Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell shared a touching moment while watching their daughter Kate Hudson's latest film "Song Sung Blue."

 During a post-screening panel at AMC The Grove in Los Angeles on January 13, Hawn revealed that she and Russell were so moved by Kate's performance that they held onto each other and cried. The 80-year-old actress said she hadn't had such an emotional reaction to a movie since she was 11 years old, and Russell was so overwhelmed he had to step away briefly to compose himself.


The film stars Hudson alongside Hugh Jackman as real-life couple Claire and Mike Sardina, who formed the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder in the late 1980s. Hudson's powerful performance has earned her Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, marking her triumphant return to awards season since her breakout role in "Almost Famous" over two decades ago. During the panel, the family noted how Jackman's character reminded them of Russell, who embraced their blended family with love and dedication.


Hudson described her family as "easy criers" and shared how meaningful this role has been for her career, allowing her to showcase the range she's been waiting to demonstrate. The genuine emotional response from her parents speaks to both the depth of Kate's performance and the beautiful bond this Hollywood family shares across generations.
