The Prince Dapo Abiodun–led administration continues to record steady and measurable progress on the reconstruction of the Lagos–Abeokuta Road, with intensified construction activities ongoing across major sections of the corridor, including Itori, Papalanto, Ifo and other adjoining areas, as work advances steadily towards the Sango axis.
At Ewekoro, construction of rigid pavement is progressing on the left-hand side, alongside reinforced concrete drainage works in front of the Lafarge Cement factory. Similar rigid pavement works are also ongoing at GPC, along the Ewekoro–Papalanto axis on the right-hand side. In Sango Ota, asphalt laying of both the binder and wearing courses has been successfully completed in front of the Matrix petrol station on the right-hand side, while the wearing course has also been laid on the outer lane at Obada Oko.
Further along the route, grading and compaction of the sub-base course are actively underway around the Itori Police Station axis, with quality laterite currently being spread on another section of the Itori corridor. At Iyana Ilogbo, spreading and compaction of the sub-base course are also progressing steadily. These sustained construction efforts underscore the administration’s commitment to delivering a durable, high-quality Lagos–Abeokuta Road that will significantly improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and boost socio-economic activities across Ogun State.
