AN ARKANSAS WOMAN WENT DOOR-TO-DOOR, POSING AS A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, AND ASKED PEOPLE FOR THEIR OLD PRESCRIPTIONS SO SHE COULD "DISPOSE OF THEM PROPERLY". (PHOTO).

 An Arkansas woman went door-to-door, posing as a medical professional, and asked people for their old prescriptions so she could "dispose of them properly". 

37-year-old Kori Partovi told officers with Jonesboro Police Department she was simply helping the community when they responded to a suspicious person report a little before 9 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, August 2nd. She told authorities she had taken up the cause after a relative had overdosed.

Officers had arrived in the area of Paula and Covey Drive after residents told dispatchers of a bizarre incident that had occurred.

One caller said a woman had knocked on their door asking for any old prescriptions they may have in the home. The woman (Kori Partovi)  had claimed she was an employee of St. Bernard's Hospital and she was working as part of a "drug take-back program".

An actual employee of St. Bernard's Hospital lived in one of the homes Kori approached and told officers there was no such program. Another resident had a video of the entire act unfolding at their door, providing authorities with ample evidence.

When officers approached Kori, she claimed she was working through a "Facebook drug take-back program" before ultimately admitting to the deception described by residents. 

Kori gave consent for officers to search a large purple bag in her possession.  16 hydrocodone pills, as well as 17 Ambien, were discovered. Both medications are controlled substances. 

There were various other prescription medications in the bag that she had taken from homes, but they were not controlled substances.

Kori Partovi is facing two charges of possession of a controlled substance, theft of $1,000 or less, and second-degree criminal impersonation.

Kori had her bond set at $35,000 and is due back in court on August 21st.
