 Why Nollywood Icon Bukky Wright Kept Her Return to Nigeria a Secret


Renowned Nollywood actress and film producer Bukky Wright has opened up about her decision to quietly return to Nigeria to shoot her latest cinematic project, The Return of Omotara Johnson, without the public's knowledge.


Speaking during a guest appearance on the popular television program, The Morayo Show, the veteran screen diva explained that her stealthy homecoming was a deliberate move guided by personal wisdom. She emphasized the importance of keeping significant career and life moves private until they are fully realized.


The Power of Silent Manifestation


'I didn't tell anybody I was coming back,' Wright revealed during her interview. She added that even during the active filming stages of her new movie, many in her circle remained unaware. According to her, keeping her moves low-key was a conscious choice that yielded excellent results, stating that projects tend to manifest much better when kept away from the public eye.


Supporting Her Son's Surprising Career Shift


Beyond her secret film production, Wright also touched on her family dynamics, particularly her relationship with her son, Ojay Wright, who is currently carving out a niche for himself in the music industry. The actress revealed that her children showed zero interest in the entertainment industry during their formative years.


Interestingly, Ojay pursued a highly academic path, graduating with a degree in biochemistry. However, he eventually felt the pull of the creative arts and pivoted into music. Rather than enforcing a traditional career path, Wright fully embraced his decision. 'He wasn’t supposed to go into music but decided to diversify into music, and I supported him,' she shared.

Wright concluded her interview by acknowledging the immense role her audience has played in her enduring career. Recognizing that her longevity in the competitive Nigerian movie industry is a direct result of public affection, she expressed deep appreciation for her supporters, stating firmly, 'Without my fans, there is no me.'
