Some residents of Anambra State have claimed that the sit-at-home order by the  Indigenous People of Biafra was emasculating the economy of Eastern Nigeria, thereby impoverishing the people. Ngozi Nwaude, a community leader in Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area in Awka, the state capital, called on leaders of the group on Monday to adopt a persuasive approach to their social mobilisation campaign. She said by enforcing the sit-at-home order through the instrument of fear and intimidation, IPOB had become the enemy of many residents of the area.

 EFCC Arraigns Female Lawyer for Money Laundering The Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Friday, January 14, 2022 arraigned Anumati Stella Ojevwe before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State. Ojevwe was arraigned on a 14-count charge of money laundering. The defendant is alleged to have received the sum of N105, 000,000 (One Hundred and Five Million) from SA-FX Global investment.

IPOB Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial Adjourned To Wednesday, 19th January, 2022 The trial of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was stalled on Tuesday, 18th January, 2022, after he objected to the fresh terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government. The IPOB leader had in his corner at the trial his new lead defence lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, Ifeanyi Ejiofor and other lawyers in his legal team.  The case was adjourned to Wednesday, 19th January, 2022 by the trial judge.  More photos below.

NIGERIAN ARMY TAKES GENDER ADVOCACY TO SOKOTO The Nigerian Army(NA) in collaboration with British Defence Section, West Africa has taken its advocacy on Gender Mainstreaming  to 8 Division Area of Responsibility, Sokoto. The workshop tagged "Gender mainstreaming for enhanced professionalism in the NA", organised by the Department of Civil-Military Affairs will be conducted from 16 -18 January 2022.  The workshop was declared opened by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Uwem Bassey, who was represented at the event by Brigadier General Mohammed Abdullahi, Chief of Staff, Headquarters 8 Division. The workshop, he said, seeks to build the requisite capacity of officers and men of the NA, particularly as assigned missions within the joint environment are becoming complex, increasingly expanding and dynamic in the areas of gender mainstreaming, lnternational  Humanitarian Law and Fundamentals Human Rights.           ...

Mrs Obiano Wife of the Governor of Anambra State and founder of the charity organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, Dr (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano says that despite the challenges that come with politics, Anambra women and children gave her fond moments to cherish forever. Dr (Mrs) Obiano who stated this in an interview with the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), disclosed that in her eight years as the governor's wife, women and children were the focal points in her policies, and added verve to her social programs. She said that she has enjoyed every moment spent with Anambra women and children, and hailed them for the unique honour that she enjoyed from them, especially during her annual tour of the twenty-one local government areas of the state which spanned eight years.   Kanye West finally arrived at his daughter Chicago West's fourth birthday party after publicly claiming that his estranged wife Kim Kardashian didn't invite him to the same. According to West, he "wasn't allowed to know where her party was" amid his ongoing divorce with the SKIMS founder.  In a very public rant, Kanye claimed he couldn't meet his daughter on her birthday. He accused Kim Kardashian of playing "games" which has been affecting Ye's "health for the longest." He revealed that he wants to take "control" of the "narrative" this year onwards.
