 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. DRUNK DRIVERS IN THAILAND,WILL NOW BE SENTENCED TO THE MORGUE TO WORK,AS PUNISHMENT.

                  Anyone caught drunk driving in Thailand will be sent to work in a morgue under new measures which aim to reduce the country's high rate of road fatalities,and it is approved by the Thai government.The Bangkok post reports that those convicted of the offense could be sentenced to time at a hospital morgue.Thai courts sentence those convicted of drunk driving to community service,which uually entails roadside work or helping hospital staff treat those involved in car crashes but the country's Probation Department said it does not have as much of an impact.Nonjit Natepukka,a senior official is quoted in the Telegragp as saying ''We think the intensity that comes from working in a morgue will help give those doing community service a clearer picture of what happens after accidents caused by drink driving''.The announcement came on the eve of the Songkran festival,which is seen as one of the two most dangerous times on Thai roads,the other being western New Year.With a surge in traffic on the roads,combined with an increase in alcohol consumption,the two holidays have been branded the ''Seven Deadly Days'' with an estimated 2.3 people dying per hour during the festivals and 160 injured.More photos below.
