 Legendary actor Manoj Kumar dies at 87: ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan’ director breathes his last in Mumbai Manoj Kumar, the Bollywood actor and filmmaker, renowned for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death was identified as cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, according to medical reports. The medical reports confirmed that apart from a severe heart attack that took away his life, Manoj had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis for the past few months, ANI reported. Following deteriorating health condition, he was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025. Popularly known as ‘Bharat Kumar,’ Manoj Kumar was an exceptional director and actor who was honoured with National Film Award. WORKERS DAY: FG DECLARES MAY 1ST PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

      The federal government has declared Wednesday, May 1, as a public holiday to celebrate the 2019 Workers’ Day.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, made the declaration through a press statement.
Speaking on behalf of the federal government, he congratulated Nigerian workers on their commitment and sacrifice towards building a greater Nigeria.
He commended workers’ effort at ensuring the full implementation of the policies and programmes of the government.
He said they did this through efficient and effective service delivery to Nigerians and foreigners.
Mr Dambazau called for continuous support of Nigerian workers in government’s effort at re-positioning the economy and moving it to the Next Level.
He commended them for keeping faith with President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s resolve of building a better Nigeria.
The minister wished all Nigerian workers a successful May Day celebration.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
