 PRESS RELEASE  National Dialogue on Power in Health Sector: FG Sets Up Committee To Resolve Electricity Challenges In Public Healthcare Facilities  The Federal Government has inaugurated an Implementation Committee for National Stakeholders Dialogue on Power in the Health sector, aimed at achieving sustainable electrification of public healthcare facilities. The primary objective of the national dialogue is to amongst others enhance public- private partnerships to ensure a steady electricity supply to public health institutions.  It will also identify alternative and sustainable solutions by exploring renewable energy options, backup power systems and, energy-efficient solutions to enhance power reliability in tertiary and other health facilities across the  country. WORKERS DAY: FG DECLARES MAY 1ST PUBLIC HOLIDAY.

      The federal government has declared Wednesday, May 1, as a public holiday to celebrate the 2019 Workersā€™ Day.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, made the declaration through a press statement.
Speaking on behalf of the federal government, he congratulated Nigerian workers on their commitment and sacrifice towards building a greater Nigeria.
He commended workersā€™ effort at ensuring the full implementation of the policies and programmes of the government.
He said they did this through efficient and effective service delivery to Nigerians and foreigners.
Mr Dambazau called for continuous support of Nigerian workers in governmentā€™s effort at re-positioning the economy and moving it to the Next Level.
He commended them for keeping faith with President Muhammadu Buhari administrationā€™s resolve of building a better Nigeria.
The minister wished all Nigerian workers a successful May Day celebration.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. ā€œThe Appellant was set up.
