 Dollar Rain in Mauritius: NSC DG Bukola Olopade rewards Nigerian Weightlifters with financial boost The Nigerian weightlifting team competing at the 2025 Africa Weightlifting Championship received a major morale and financial boost on Wednesday, as the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, personally donated $3,800 to athletes and officials in Mauritius. Olopade, who is currently in Moka to support Team Nigeria, made the announcement during a meeting with the athletes and the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation officials. The gesture is part of a broader effort to encourage excellence and motivate the team to deliver podium finishes. "I bring you greetings from the Chairman of the Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, the father of sports in Nigeria," Olopade said during the session.      The best news ever broke yesterday when the Duke Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child and it is a boy.Rumours going round is that their son might be named 'Authur'.When Prince Harry was interviewed about his new born son he said ''I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support of everybody out there. It’s been amazing so we just wanted to share this with everybody. [We’re] still thinking about names. The baby’s a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, but that’s the next bit. But for us, I think we’ll be seeing you guys in probably two days’ time as planned as a family to share it with you guys and so everyone can see the baby. I haven’t been at many births; this is definitely my first birth, but it was amazing, absolutely incredible. And as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for. ''.The Palace went ahead to publish the birth their child,and the notice reads as follows ''Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs this morning. 
The baby weighs 7lbs 3oz and The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.
The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
