 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.      The best news ever broke yesterday when the Duke Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child and it is a boy.Rumours going round is that their son might be named 'Authur'.When Prince Harry was interviewed about his new born son he said ''I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support of everybody out there. It’s been amazing so we just wanted to share this with everybody. [We’re] still thinking about names. The baby’s a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, but that’s the next bit. But for us, I think we’ll be seeing you guys in probably two days’ time as planned as a family to share it with you guys and so everyone can see the baby. I haven’t been at many births; this is definitely my first birth, but it was amazing, absolutely incredible. And as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for. I’m just over the moon. Thank you very much, guys. Thank you. ''.The Palace went ahead to publish the birth their child,and the notice reads as follows ''Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs this morning. 
The baby weighs 7lbs 3oz and The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.
The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
