 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. LASG POSTPONES Y2021 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION INTO MODEL COLLEGES, UPGRADED JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

The Lagos State Examinations Board has postponed the Y2021 Entrance Examination (Screening Test) into the State Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools earlier scheduled to hold from Monday, June 28 to Saturday, July 3, 2021.


A release signed by the Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Supo Gbadegesin, stated that the examination has now been rescheduled to hold from Thursday, 15th July to Monday, 19th July, 2021.


He reminded the Parents and Guardians of registered candidates that the examination would be conducted through the Computer-Based Testing method (CBT) only, advising they ensure that their children and wards are well acquainted with the usage of computers.


The Director implored all prospective candidates to take cognisance of the new dates and revisit the Lagos State Examinations Board Portal via: examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng from Thursday, 1st July, 2021, to print out their Examination Slips for the details of the examination.


While informing the parents and children to adhere strictly to the laid down guidelines and safety protocols of COVID-19 during the conduct of the examination, Gbadegesin wished participants success in the examination.
