 [ASSEN SAPS MEMBERS ASSIST WOMAN IN GIVING BIRTH AT POLICE STATION] Assen SAPS members assisted a female suspect who went into labour at the police station on Thursday, 8 October 2026, helping her deliver a healthy baby girl before she and the newborn were taken to a medical facility. According to reports, members were on duty at Assen SAPS under the command of Sergeant Chidi, when they received a telephone call regarding the arrest of a female suspect at Msholozi informal settlement in Kameeldrift. Constable Olivier and Constable Mokhutshoane responded to the call and arrested the suspect, who was reportedly in good health and had no visible injuries at the time of the arrest. She was subsequently taken to Assen SAPS. While at the police station, the suspect began experiencing labour pains and an ambulance was immediatly summond. GOV SANWO-OLU ATTENDS LAGOS COMMODITIES AND FUTURES EXCHANGE LAUNCH: 5 BILLION SERIES 1 OF THE 30 BILLION EKO RICE CONTRACTS PROGRAMMES, AT THE UAC BUILDING, MARINA, ON WEDNESDAY, 21ST JUNE 2023

I'm happy to announce the launch of the Five Billion Series 1 of the 30 Billion Eko Rice Contracts Programme on the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange. 

This revolutionary public-private partnership is a game-changer for agriculture and food security in Lagos State. 

Agriculture is a critical sector of our economy, and this programme positions Lagos as an innovative hub. By guaranteeing the availability of affordable rice, we're ensuring food security for over 80% of Lagos families and also empowering our local farmers and driving economic growth together. 

Our commitment to the development of the Rice Value Chain has yielded remarkable results. We've scaled up local paddy production by 63.5%, creating over 2,620 jobs and improving livelihoods in rice-producing communities. This is just the beginning of our agricultural revolution.

Today's bell ringing ceremony on Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange is a historic moment. We're offering exciting investment opportunities in Lagos' agricultural sector, highlighting these investment opportunities and projecting the role of the Capital Market in driving development in Lagos' commodities ecosystem. Let's seize the potential!

Through our agreement with Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange, we'll ensure a sustainable supply of paddy to the rice mill. Every three months, 15,000 metric tonnes of paddy will be milled and sold to the public through subscribers. This collaboration strengthens the rice value chain and boosts confidence in the market.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
