A statement released on Friday by Abbas Wangara, Director of Protocol and Publicity, Judiciary, Jigawa State, confirmed that the court will resume its regular sittings on January 6, 2025.

During the recess, Justice Muhammed El-Usman has been assigned as the Christmas and New Year recess judge and will handle urgent matters at the High Court Complex in Dutse.

Wangara explained that the annual recess is a standard procedure, providing court staff and judges with a break for the festive period, in line with legal provisions. He further noted that Justice El-Usman would be available to address any urgent cases that may arise.

This break, according to Wangara, offers an opportunity for court staff and judges to rest and prepare for the new year, while the judiciary continues its efforts to reduce case backlogs and ensure timely justice delivery.
