 UNACCEPTABLE – GOV. ALIA BLASTS MBALOM KILLINGS, ASSURES JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS  Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has condemned the latest attack on Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government Area, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable, while assuring residents of intensified efforts to protect lives and property. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor reacted to reports of an assault by suspected armed herdsmen on the community, an incident that adds to recurring security concerns in parts of the state. Alia said the attack represents a direct threat to the peace and security of Benue, noting a disturbing pattern of what he described as calculated and selective assaults. He expressed sympathy to affected families and reiterated his administration’s resolve to confront criminal elements. IGP ORDERS TODAY,THE DISARMAMENT OF IPOB ACTIVISTS+CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF POLICEMEN BY IPOB.

               Following the manifestation of the disposition of the armed Independent People of Biafra {IPOB} activists to undertake premeditated attacks on Police officers engaged in operations aimed at restoring public order in States in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zone of the country,the country,the Inspector General of Police,IGP Solomon E. Arase,fdc,NPM has directed the Assistant Inspectors General of Police and the Commissioners of Police in the affected area to disarm members of the group operating firearms immediately.The IGP noted that the targeted attacks on Police personnel,who have been performing their statutory functions in the most professional and civil manner since the latest resurgence disorder,portrays the IPOB activists who are orchestrating the insurrection as having crossed the threshold in their misguided attempt to test the common will of the nation.IGP Arase,while condemning the killing by members of IPOB,also directed the arrest of any members of the group found in possession of firearm and bring him/her to deserved justice,while all IPOB activists arrested in connection with the killing of the Policemen should be charged to court for murder.Meanwhile,the Nigeria Police Force will continue to diligently work towards eliminating any threat to internal security and assures Nigerians of its commitment to their safety and security.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
