 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. IGP ORDERS TODAY,THE DISARMAMENT OF IPOB ACTIVISTS+CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF POLICEMEN BY IPOB.

               Following the manifestation of the disposition of the armed Independent People of Biafra {IPOB} activists to undertake premeditated attacks on Police officers engaged in operations aimed at restoring public order in States in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zone of the country,the country,the Inspector General of Police,IGP Solomon E. Arase,fdc,NPM has directed the Assistant Inspectors General of Police and the Commissioners of Police in the affected area to disarm members of the group operating firearms immediately.The IGP noted that the targeted attacks on Police personnel,who have been performing their statutory functions in the most professional and civil manner since the latest resurgence disorder,portrays the IPOB activists who are orchestrating the insurrection as having crossed the threshold in their misguided attempt to test the common will of the nation.IGP Arase,while condemning the killing by members of IPOB,also directed the arrest of any members of the group found in possession of firearm and bring him/her to deserved justice,while all IPOB activists arrested in connection with the killing of the Policemen should be charged to court for murder.Meanwhile,the Nigeria Police Force will continue to diligently work towards eliminating any threat to internal security and assures Nigerians of its commitment to their safety and security.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
