 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. BENUE ASSEMBLY REJECTS ORTOM'S PENSION BILL OVER UNPAID LAWMAKERS' SALARIES

The Benue State House of Assembly has temporarily suspended its plenary due to the non-payment of salaries and allowances owed to its members for the past six months.

The decision has resulted in the controversial Executive Pension Bill, proposed by Governor Samuel Ortom, being put on hold for approval.

Governor-elect Hyacinth Alia has criticized the bill, which would offer former state governors permanent accommodation and four new cars every four years.

In addition, the bill proposes the hiring of six personal staff for former governors and three for former deputy governors, as well as free medical treatment for the former governors, their spouses, and at least four of their children under 18.

According to Bem Mngutyo, a member of the House, the decision to suspend plenary was made in light of the unresolved issue of their outstanding salaries and emoluments.

The lawmaker further revealed that Governor Ortom reportedly met with the People’s Democratic Party caucus of the House last weekend to discuss the matter and promised to settle the arrears before leaving office in 18 days using the state’s May federal allocation

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
