Jane Fonda warns America faces 'existential' crisis as she urges turnout at 'No Kings' protests

Jane Fonda, the veteran actress and activist, is urging Americans to mobilize for the upcoming “No Kings” protests, framing the demonstrations as a crucial first step in broader civic engagement.

Speaking on Inside with Jen Psaki, she emphasized that people should not attend alone but bring others who have never protested before, describing the rallies as a way to build community and strengthen collective action.

Fonda stressed that while the protests may not directly impact Donald Trump, they matter deeply to those who oppose his leadership.

In her remarks, Fonda tied the protests to the urgent issue of climate change, warning that the nation faces an “existential crisis” under Trump’s policies.

She expressed gratitude for being alive to fight for the future, insisting that Americans have the power to change the trajectory of events.

Highlighting the historic weight of the moment, she argued that future generations will judge today’s actions, making it vital for people to stand on the right side of history.

Fonda’s call to action reflects her long-standing commitment to activism, dating back to her controversial opposition to the Vietnam War. Over the years, she has remained outspoken on political issues, including climate advocacy and criticism of Trump.

She has also rallied fellow Hollywood figures to resist his presidency, underscoring her belief that everyone has a role to play in shaping the future.

For Fonda, the protests are not just about resistance but about building solidarity and ensuring that history remembers those who fought for change.
