#OsunDecides2026: It’s victory for democracy, Adeleke says after gov poll win Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has described his victory in the just-concluded governorship election as a triumph for democracy and the people of the state. Adeleke, who was declared winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday, spoke shortly after his declaration, expressing gratitude to God and to Osun residents for standing by him. Speaking in a video on Sunday, Adeleke said, I feel great. First of all, I thank God Almighty for what has happened today. It’s a victory for democracy in Nigeria. A victory for Osun people that stood by me and said, Imole, you have done a lot for us. You have given us dividend of democracy in terms of infrastructure, improving our education, agriculture, and so forth. TROOPS OF NEWLY ESTABLISHED 15 BRIGADE DISMANTLE IPOB/ESN CAMPS, RECOVER ARMS, EXPLOSIVES IN ANAMBRA Troops of the newly established 15 Brigade Nigerian Army, operating under the Joint Task Force South East, Operation UDO KA, have recorded a major operational success against suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN), dismantling three terrorist camps and recovering arms, explosives and other logistics during a coordinated operation in Anambra State. Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord party, has been declared winner of the off circle governorship election in Osun state with 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Oyebamiji who polled 444,815 votes.

On the 6th August, 2026 at about 0800hrs, two complainants from Yalo Village, Alkaleri LGA, reported at Alkaleri Divisional Headquarters that some of their cattle, numbering 103, were rustled by unknown gunmen in July 2026 at Yankari Forest to unknown destination. ANAMBRA SECURITY: CP NNANNA STRENGTHENS OPERATIONAL CONTROL ROOMS TO MONITOR CHECKPOINTS AND PATROLS, TARGETS ZERO EXTORTION The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has introduced a strategic monitoring mechanism through the Command’s Operational Control Rooms to closely supervise police checkpoints, patrol teams and other operational activities across the State.
