Kaduna Assembly Speaker Yusuf Liman Appoints Three New Personal Aides The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, has approved the appointment of three new Personal Aides, bringing the total number of aides serving under his leadership to 44. The newly appointed Personal Aides are Bitrus Babangida Bala of Barnawa, Kaduna South; Giwa Sunday Kanda of Television, Kaduna South; and Christopher K. Magaji of Kakuri Gwari, Kaduna South. Liman, who also represents Makera Constituency in the Assembly, urged the newly appointed aides to regard their positions as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and Kaduna State. The Speaker charged them to discharge their responsibilities diligently and work in the interest of the people. Edo state house of Assembly speaker Blessing Agbebaku resigns ,deputy Speaker Jonathan Ibhamawu takes over plenary. Agbebaku's resignation came after a bloc of lawmakers began organising moves to impeach him. Rather than face a formal removal process, he chose to vacate the position. His media aide firmed the resignation but said a full account of the circumstances surrounding his exit would be made available to the public at a later time.

An 18-year-old Indiana teen jumped into a swollen river and was whisked away by the powerful waters. His body was recovered days later. Matthew Morey was considered a stand-out wide receiver during his time on the Delta High School football team. Matthew had recently graduated from Delta and was heading to Purdue University, where he planned to study engineering. Matthew was a bright, and kind young man. When Matthew decided to hang out with a group of friends on Wednesday, August 12th, all of that potential and those dreams were washed away in the currents of the Mississinewa River. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office received a concerning report on the night of August 12th. . According to reports, four teens had made the troubling decision to jump from the iron bridge near County Road 450 and Gregory Road. Indiana flooding leaves at least six dead as White River peaks in Indianapolis Days of severe storms and flooding across Indiana have killed at least six people as the White River reached its peak in Indianapolis early Sunday and officials began shifting their focus toward recovery. The deaths since the storms began Aug. 11 include a 4-year-old boy, two men and three women. In Jennings County, the boy was killed Tuesday when a tree fell through his bedroom during strong winds. Among the other victims was 19-year-old Matthew Morey, whose body was recovered Saturday from the Mississinewa River in Delaware County. Morey had jumped from a bridge into the swollen river with friends three days earlier. Family and friends later gathered at the bridge to remember the recent high school graduate, who planned to attend Purdue University, while emphasizing the dangers of fast-moving floodwaters. 1 killed, 4 injured in shooting at Kentucky park One person was killed, and four others were injured in a shooting at a park in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday evening, police said. Officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire at Charles Young Park in downtown Lexington. They found five people suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. The other four victims were expected to survive, with their injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said two of the victims were children, ages 4 and 14. He did not provide details about a possible suspect but said authorities did not believe there was an ongoing danger to the public. Weathers urged residents to alert police if they know someone who may be considering using a weapon before another incident occurs. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Lexington police.

Ukraine launches massive drone attack on Russia, killing at least six as war escalates Ukraine launched hundreds of drones against targets across Russia on Sunday, killing at least six people in one of the largest aerial assaults of the war. The attack came as Kyiv has intensified its long-range strikes against Russian military and energy infrastructure, while Russian attacks continued to hit civilian areas in Ukraine. Russia’s Defense Ministry said 822 Ukrainian drones were destroyed overnight. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said about 600 drones were detected heading toward the capital, with roughly one-third intercepted over the Moscow region. An 83-year-old man was killed when a Ukrainian drone struck a private home in the Moscow region. A Ukrainian attack also ignited a fire at a Wildberries warehouse in Podolsk, according to regional officials.
