Regal’s death, which occurred in July, was confirmed by the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), which paid tribute to the former champion’s impact on the sport. Regal began his professional wrestling career in 1977, eventually rising to prominence in the American Wrestling Association (AWA). He captured the AWA World Light Heavyweight Championship and had notable victories over competitors like Buck Zumhofe and The Road Warriors. In 1986, Regal defeated Denny Brown to claim the NWA junior heavyweight title, a milestone that helped pave the way for future generations of wrestlers.
